By Your Bedside

2018

Nothing but medical equipment and a bed in the middle of an empty white room. The repetition of a heart monitor filling the silence and echoing off the walls into our ears. A never-ending nightmare. Our days were spent by my mother's bedside, waiting for any sign of improvement.

This project, alongside Susan's Sleep, follows the collective trauma my family and I went through from December 25th 2016 and well into the new year. Revisiting the Intensive Care Unit years later to document, and in many ways, relive the experience, the emptiness and isolation.
